I'm honored (and always a little amazed) to know that my writing has an audience.kmthelibrarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08173264575828631775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-104163264540869646.post-77356863164720952642013-01-14T07:10:50.220-05:002013-01-14T07:10:50.220-05:00Although you don't post often, yours is the bl...Although you don't post often, yours is the blog I find myself most excited to see a new post reflecting your always reflective thinking. Once more, you hit the nail on the head in terms of what it means to find that network of colleagues that nourishes you and your thinking and work. Thanks for a great post.Marge Loch-Woutershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09299355611398291374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-104163264540869646.post-64443847112653428192013-01-13T17:11:28.723-05:002013-01-13T17:11:28.723-05:00So true! Sometimes this means giving people a "trial period" to figure out if the relationship (virtual or IRL) works for me.

...and you are so gonna rock it at CiL! :-)Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696254947595873203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-104163264540869646.post-44124469888392462202013-01-13T14:29:57.470-05:002013-01-13T14:29:57.470-05:00Same here, Diane. We have to reflect not just on the communities we create for library users, but for the community of librarians as well.kmthelibrarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08173264575828631775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-104163264540869646.post-647325978910343302013-01-13T13:11:15.071-05:002013-01-13T13:11:15.071-05:00Thanks for verbalizing what I've been reflecti...Thanks for verbalizing what I've been reflecting on lately. There are a few conferences to which I never send proposals because I don't consider myself "advanced" enough to meet their expectations. Other gatherings project quite a different feel, and I willingly submit my ideas for their review. While attendees don't always mimic the organizers' mindset, they do so often enough that I am reevaluating where I go and with whom I associate. I value f2f time with members of my network and can't afford to spend the time or money required to insert myself into venues where I'm merely tolerated.dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11292813474160548707noreply@blogger.com
