I have one better- a patron calls in seriously looking for the university in Egypt that Jesus went to. As I am typing, he is actually praying out loud to Jesus to help me find the answer.
I mean the history of Christianity before Jesus would include the rabbis speaking a generation before him, the mystery cults in the region, and obviously Jewish tradition.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that only people believe that Christianity started with a divine event would not acknowledge that it had a history. Is that you?
ReplyDeleteThe student's search was fairly unfocused in a lot of ways; his teacher intervened to help him more clearly define what it was he was looking for.
